Sales interview questions may be divided into various categories. There are questions that are asked exclusively by the employer or interviewer. An applicant might be given chance to ask questions during sales interview. There are also general common questions regarding sales may be inquired that deals mainly on the sales skills of the applicant; and such topics as sales cycle or process, the typical week of a sales representative, sales quota and closing transactions.

There are also questions that test the sales skills of the applicant such as questioning what important sales skills they posses to approach potential clients to buy his products and how they take rejections from them and also asked the applicant on what positions they’re applying for, considering on what they are capable of, that will benefits both the company and the employee.

The sales applicant might be inquired on what are his accomplishments and his objectives; what line of products he handled in his previous sales operations and the incentives or rewards generated for him; and the reasons why he is in this field of sales profession and wanted this line of work.

The employer might be interested to know how long he processed his sales, so the applicant may also be required to describe his usual sales cycle, percentage of sales quota assignments that he achieved; and what he needs from the employer for him to be successful in his sales expeditions.

The sales representative candidate may ask, should ask, what are the factors and the qualifications that the company is looking for an applicant to be hired in the sales position that is being interviewed for, during or after the interview take place.
