There was a time when thinking about higher education was more of a dream for minorities. But now, there is a complete array of scholarships that the minorities can apply for:
The Black Student Fund: This fund awards tuition grants to students with a modest financial background. This is a purely merit based scholarship facility.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund: This $1000 to $5000 grant award is for all students attending a community college and those who can show a GPA of 3.0. This scholarship is administered both on the basis of need as well as merit.
Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Award: The awards presented under this foundation are exclusively for the high school seniors showing commendable academic excellence in their community. Being presented only to academically outstanding students, this is purely a merit based scholarship.
